Fill your plate ½ way at dinner parties and do not go for seconds.

Allow yourself to have one appetizer before dinner or stick with the vegetable/fruit platter without the dressing dip to curb your pre-meal appetite.

Drink a Glass of water after every alcoholic beverage.

Make sure you exercise for 30 minutes first thing the next morning.

General Exercise Plan for Weight Loss

The key to weight loss, decreasing body fat and toning your body is the combination of exercise and good eating habits. The exercise programs that Pro-Active Fitness has devises involves total body workouts utilizing multiple exercises that challenge the same muscle group in different ways. For best results, cardiovascular or aerobic fitness training should be performed 3 times per week in the beginning progressing toward 4 to5 times per week. Cardiovascular activities should be performed for 30-45 minutes at the end of your workout in your target heart rate zone. However, if your current schedule does not allow for that much time, do as much as you can. Ten minutes is better than nothing. In terms of diet you need to jump start your metabolism. Refer to the personalized nutrition program for a detailed personalized nutrition program. Here are some quick nutrition tips to increase your metabolism.

  • Modify caloric intake appropriately
  • Decrease fat intake to less than 30% of your overall daily caloric intake.
  • Eat fats that are liquid at room temperature. Olive Oil instead of Butter.
  • Add cardiovascular exercise for 20-60 minutes daily
  • Perform resistance training exercises 2-3 x per week.

Do not be fooled into thinking that you can loose weight by starving yourself, doing so will shock your body into shutting down using your muscle tissue for energy and storing your food as fat instead.
